Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has founded courses that provide techniques and tools to live a deeper, more joyous life. He has established nonprofit organizations that recognize a common human identity above the boundaries of race, nationality and religion. His goal is to uplift people around the globe, to reduce stress, and to develop leaders so that human values can flourish in people and communities.

Sri Sri spoke with the Center’s founder, Dr. James Doty on a wide-ranging conversation centered on compassion in all aspects of our lives.

Sri Sri emphasized the importance of combining compassion with passion and dispassion. Sri Sri also discussed the importance of breathwork and meditation practices in increasing one’s capacity for compassion. The talk was attended by 500 individuals comprised of Stanford students, faculty and staff as well as members of the general public.
