An evening of music and knowledge was enjoyed by 15,000 people gathered at Whitefield to celebrate 30 years of Art of Living. At the occasion, speaking on the significance of satsang and service, Sri Sri said, "What is the sign of being in satsang? It is that you can bring your worries, but you can't take them back. Even if you worry, worry for a bigger cause, like the nation. When you worry for a bigger cause, your smaller worries will disappear. This is the law of the nature." Urging people to drop their worries, Sri Sri inspired Bangalore to volunteer for India, saying, "How many of you are ready to give one year for the country? You have so many challenges and caste problem. We have to create a violence free and stress free society."

Dedicated volunteers and residents of Whitefield have worked for better health and hygiene of their neighbours in rural areas, by organising medical camps pro bono, that treated more than one thousand people. Initiatives were taken to build bathrooms for girls at Ramagondanhalli School. Finding many ways to contribute, people came together to share their belongings and skills by teaching computers to school children, spoken english to youth, conducting yoga lessons, and donating computers and clothes. The community has inculcated a strong sense of belongingness through various Art of Living courses and service initiatives.
